The ideal location of La Campière campsite means you can choose to enjoy either the west coast, just 400 meters from your accommodation, or the east coast, less than 15 minutes away by bike. With 3 surfing and foiling schools, one of which is just 400 meters from the campsite, and a diving school less than 2 kilometers from your accommodation, professional instructors will help you discover or perfect these sports.
Canoeing or paddle-boarding on the canals through the salt marshes of Saint-Georges-d’Oléron gives you a close-up view of the island’s wildlife.
Sailing enthusiasts can indulge their passion at the port of Saint-Denis-d’Oléron. In addition to the campsite swimming pool, you can enjoy the Iléo water park with its wellness area, slide,inflatables,outdoor river , etc., just 20 minutes from the campsite.
Fishing on the Ile d’Oléron
Fishing is a major activity that can be enjoyed in a wide variety of ways in the vicinity of our seaside campsite on the Ile d’Oléron.
Cast your line or surfcast your line on the large sandy beach along the Saint-Georges-d’Oléron coast near the campsite. On days when the weather is rougher, you can take shelter on the island’s east coast, 4 kilometers from the La Campière campsite, on the beaches of La Brée les Pins or Les Saumonards, also renowned for their shore fishing.
For those who prefer fishing on foot, the Ile d’Oléron is full of places where you can collect shellfish at low tide. The foreshore of Plage de Chaucre, close to the campsite, is an excellent spot where you can find étrilles, sea urchins, spiders, shrimps and oysters….From Saint-Denis-d’Oléron, many fishermen also offer to take you out by boat for an offshore fishing trip.
